TO ALL FILIPINO MEMBERS OF DEVIANTART and those who are willing to support as against to this  new law
that is currently being processed in the philipines. Called the Cyber Crime law which is more look's like a local version of the S.O.P.A/P.I.PA. but is much more harsher and crueler than those two that i mentioned. since it actually completely violates
one's freedom of expression on the internet. here are some informations form this websitewww.zdnet.com/ph/philippine-cy…
and to quote " Ellyne Phneah's
Senator Teofisto Guingonathe the sole opponent when the bill was voted on by the Senate and who filed one of the petitions, told the Supreme Court: "Without a clear definition of the crime of libel and the persons liable, virtually any person can now be charged with a crime--even if you just re-tweet or comment on an online update or blog post".
so what does this mean? we cant share pictures links, like, or even comment or use  facebook tweeter or skype etc.
anymore?. with out  being given a warrant of arrest or what they'll just come right up walking in our homes arresting us just because sharing someone's picture's or just commenting on it.
and to quote again from  Ellyne Phneah
"The Cyber Crime Prevention act of 2012 signed by President Benigno Aquino III on Sep. 12, aims to fight online pornography, hacking, identity theft and spamming following local law enforcement agencies' complaints over the lack of legal tools to combat cybercrime.
However, the law came with tougher legal penalties for Internet defamation, compared to traditional media.
It also allows authorities to collect data from personal user accounts on social media and listen in on voice and video applications such as Skype, without a warrant. Users who post defamatory comments on Facebook or Twitter, for example, could be sentenced to up 12 years in jail." oh great so now their violating our privacy by collecting  from our personal accounts and eavesdrop on our "voice and Video applications"  and we could be sentence to jail for what 12 years in jail by just doing those thing's. many have already shown their appeals on this Cyber crime law. for being unfair to the people who uses the net for  mostly if not their daily lives  or just to communicate with their friends families and relatives who are out working abroad. and now because some CORRUPT POWER-HUNGRY AND MONEY GRABBING SENATOR'S they can no longer use the net. so if there are Filipino members here on deviantart that had already seen these on the news. let's not let them violate our freedom expression and our human rights on the net.
